Breakups and Heartbreak

Healing After a Breakup and Moving Forward

Welcome

Breakups hurt.

Heartbreak is real.

Sometimes, it can feel like your world has changed overnight.

You may feel sad.

May feel angry.

You may even feel relieved.

Every feeling is valid.

You are not alone.

Give Yourself Time

Healing does not happen in one day.

However, every day is a step forward.

Some days will feel easier.

Other days may feel harder.

That is a normal part of healing.

Be patient with yourself.

Let Yourself Feel

It is okay to cry.

Okay to miss someone.

It is okay to feel disappointed.

Instead of hiding your emotions, let yourself experience them in healthy ways.

Feelings change.

They will not last forever.

Take Care of Yourself

Your heart needs time to heal.

Your mind does too.

Because of this, make yourself a priority.

Try to:

  • Get enough sleep.
  • Eat healthy meals.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Spend time outside.
  • Move your body.
  • Listen to music.
  • Write in a journal.
  • Practice deep breathing.

Small acts of self-care help you heal.

Focus on Your Future

A breakup is one chapter.

It is not your whole story.

Instead, use this time to grow.

You can:

  • Learn something new.
  • Spend time with friends.
  • Set personal goals.
  • Discover new hobbies.
  • Build your confidence.
  • Celebrate small victories.

Every step helps you move forward.

Protect Your Peace

Healing sometimes means creating healthy boundaries.

For example, you may need to:

  • Take a break from social media.
  • Mute or unfollow an ex.
  • Avoid reading old messages.
  • Spend more time with supportive people.
  • Focus on your own well-being.

Protecting your peace is an act of self-care.

Remember Your Worth

A breakup does not define you.

It does not decide your value.

However, it can remind you how strong you really are.

You deserve kindness.

Deserve respect.

You deserve healthy love.

Never settle for less.

When You Need Support

You do not have to heal alone.

Talk to:

  • A parent
  • A trusted family member
  • A close friend
  • A teacher
  • A school counselor
  • A therapist
  • Another trusted adult

Asking for help is a sign of courage.
